The show's synopsis immediately reminded me about video games I once played (do you Remember DooM, too?). It has all components: the military, the mission, and the most important - the doomsday itself. Quite a few iterations of this art were inspired by the atmosphere and of these games. Designed for a loud impact. With the bang!
As catastrophic as this art looks, working on these comps was really fun!
